History
Frank Darling Jr. was born to happy parents Frank and Mildred in 1994 when they were living and hiding in New Orleans. Frank had been on the run from the Vicious Circle and had faked his death. When this ruse was eventually revealed, Frank moved his family back to Chicago where Frank Jr. proceeded to grow up.
Over the years, Frank Jr. befriended the step-daughter of Dragon, Angel, as they were roughly the same age and spent a great deal of time together at family events. As he reached his teenage years, Frank Jr. started to be known as Frankie. When Dragon was killed and resurrected as his original Emperor Kurr persona, Angel and Malcolm moved in with Frankie and Mildred.
Over time Frank Jr. begins to become closer with Angel. After an attack on Angel by the Absorbanoids which leaves her in a weakened state, Frank Jr. reveals his affections for Angel. Malcolm latter walks into room and sees Frank Jr. and Angel laying in bed together naked. Frank Jr. and Angel start to make plans for their future after High School with an option of traveling abroad together.
After The Tyrrus Combine’s attack on earth, false news begins to circulate that Malcolm and Angel had an affair while the world was falling apart. While this did not happen, Angel did try to consummate a sexual encounter with Malcolm, who ultimely rejected her. Angel denies all of the tabloids allegations and Frank Jr. believes her. He even states that as it was the end of the world he would have understood if something did happen between Malcolm and Angel. It seems that Angel and Frank’s relationship is stronger than ever.
Frank Jr. is later seen visiting Malcolm in the hospital and celebrating Angel’s 18th birthday simultaneously. He is later seen sneaking around a corner with Tierra by Maxine. He then reveals to Angel that he cheated on her with Tierra during the Tyrrus Combine’s invasion and that Tierra is now pregnant. Frank wants Tierra to abort the baby, but she refuses and tell him that she needs him. While Angel tries to get back with Frank he reveals that he proposed to Tierra whom he then has a shotgun marriage with.
Frank begins to work at a grocery store and has given up on his dreams. He is visited by Malcolm who gives him some money and tells him not to give up so easily. Frank and Tierra eventually have their child and decide move back with his mom and Malcolm.
Frank Jr. soon joins the police force and is part of the group of police officers in search of Malcolm Dragon. Frank later investigates a hole in the ground that leads him to a war among the underground races, but is saved by Malcolm. While talking to Malcolm is it discovered that he is getting a divorce with Tierra. He and Angel later reconnect and begin talking. After Angel gets her abortion he is there to comfort her.
He is later brutally beaten by corrupt police during a Black Lives Matter protest. He later marries Angel, but it turns out Glum had switched bodies with him.
