History
Darren “Bull” McCarthy was one of the few officers of the Chicago Police Department that resent the presence of Dragon on the force. This was mostly due to his S.W.A.T. team’s importance being diminished in his eyes. When Dragon was possessed by Horde’s leeches and sent on a rampage, McCarthy had little reluctance in ordering his colleagues to open fire upon the hero.
When Dragon went to confront OverLord for a second time, McCarthy insisted that his S.W.A.T. officers accompany the hero. Every single one of his men was killed in the opening folly of the fight. McCarthy blamed Dragon for their deaths but Frank Darling defended his best friend, pointing out that the doomed men only even attended the arrest attempt due to his own orders.
McCarthy remained with the force over the years and was present when Dragon was welcomed back into their ranks. This reunion was short-lived as the OverLord armour’s photon blast was activated via remote control. Every single human officer present was killed by the explosion that annihilated the precinct.
