History

Imposter spent much of the Gang War hanging out at the Freak Outpost bar before joining the rest of the Vicious Circle in welcoming CyberFace as their new leader. His unique abilities marked him as an important member of the criminal group and when Horde took control of it, Imposter was selected for a special mission.

Captain Mendosa of the Chicago Police Department had been working for Horde but was becoming increasingly ineffective over time. He was killed and Imposter took his place, orchestrating events to ensure that the Vicious Circle’s activities remained unmolested. The ruse was eventually exposed after Ray Wong recorded him talking to Horde in disguise, incriminating the real Mendosa whose corpse was found by his officers.

The Covenant of the Sword then recognised the specific skills of Imposter and recruited him for a mission. He abducted Jennifer Murphy before her wedding to Dragon before taking her place, ensuring that the ceremony never took place. Jennifer was then free to be brain-washed into a loyal member of the Covenant.

Years after this, Imposter worked with the American Freedom Fighters, terrorists that abducted President Bush. Bush was replaced by Imposter in the lead-up to the 2004 election but Dragon exposed the deception. Imposter was forced to give up his allies and was taken into custody.

Imposter later helps Dart II on her attack on Stronghold Penitentiary in order to free members of the Vicious Circle. When Red Ruckus and Imposter try to help Mako, the pair are decpaitated by Dart due to her desire to kill Mako.
