SUMMARY
In a snowy wasteland, Malcolm Dragon and his allies fight against robotic forces as they attempt to flee the hostile territory and make it back to the United States. Meanwhile, ever since her father went off on his latest mission, Amy Dragon has been bored. Her mother just stays in the bedroom all day and the children have been left to occupy themselves. Amy decides that life is too short and wants to go on an adventure.
Unwilling to risk the wrath of Maxine Dragon any more than he already has, Walter refuses to leave with Amy unless she gets her mother’s permission first. A reluctant Amy knocks on her parents’ bedroom door and asks to go outside. Only a muffled reply is offered but Walter thinks it was a yes and that is good enough for Amy so the duo heads on off for their next adventure.
Across town, a homeless man digs through a dumpster and finds a vial of liquid that he immediately downs in the hope that it is some alcohol. Unbeknownst to him, this serum was actually the creation of scientist Darly Queen. The scientist finds himself terminated from his job and he is informed that his equipment has all been thrown out. Daryl rushes to the dumpster and is devastated to learn that his new serum has been consumed.
As they explore San Francisco, Amy again grows bored as there does not appear to be much to entertain her beyond all the nice visuals of the city. She notices ahead that a crowd is gathering and drags Walter over to investigate. A speech is being given by billionaire Elrod Merch where he is inciting racial tension via his gestures and words. The event is abruptly ended when the super-powered homeless man swoops down out of the sky and shoots Merch to death with a powerful energy beam.
Not really understanding the situation but having witnessed as brutal murder, Amy leaps into action against this inebriated threat. She is hit with another blast and Walter fears that she has been killed and attacks the man whom he dubs the Atomic Bum. Amy quickly recovers and assures her faithful companion that she is alive and well before resuming the fight herself.
It is not long before the Atomic Bum seems to be weakening before being engulfed in a huge explosion. He plummets down to the ground and is soon followed by Amy and Walter who are relieved to see that the man is still alive. The confused man seems helpless now and is taken away by the authorities, The police then take both Amy and Walter into custody so that the whole incident can be resolved further.
