Summary

The Fiend looks forward to witnessing OverLord defeat the Dragon and is prepared to armor up every demon in Hell if would mean gaining revenge on his enemy. OverLord revels in the opportunity to kill Dragon over and over in Hell. As he prepares to open fire, Dragon bites off OverLord’s finger and spits it through his head before kicking the broken villain back into a pit of damned souls.

Dragon turns his attention back to the Fiend and as his foe says something, the way he spoke allows the hero to recognise the Fiend’s true identity. He suspects that the Fiend is really Arnold Dimple and this revelation enrages Bonnie Harris. She had no idea that her partner was the same person that shot and killed her daughter. The pair start arguing with one another and Bonnie declares that she will no longer honour her deal with the Devil in the hope that she can one day go to Heaven to see Debbie Harris.

The Devil appears out of nowhere and has no intention to allow Bonnie Harris to renege on their deal. Dragon says to her that they should leave together but the Devil refuses them passage back to Earth which draws the attention of God. The Devil refuses to give up the two souls which causes a fist fight to break out between the Devil and God. Ultimately, God claims victory over his eternal foe and warns him against acting against him again.

Although he still thinks that he is dreaming, Dragon opts to ask some questions from God nonetheless. He learns that there is no one response to the secret over the meaning of life. There is no religion that is above any others and that when someone dies, whatever they believe will happen does in fact happen. God clarifies that at the moment of death, everyone is filled with an overwhelming sense of calm and then their beliefs will create their very own Hell, Heaven or oblivion. Dragon’s current atheism will ensure that his death will bring him oblivion.

Bonnie Harris explains to God how she sold her soul to the Devil so that she could get revenge. She wishes to break the deal so that she can see her daughter in Heaven but God ignores her pleas and banishes her to the depths of Hell. Arnold Dimple then gradually drifts off down into Hell himself, presumably to begin his own condemnation.

Dragon is about to be returned home but suddenly thinks to ask about where he came from. God simply replies that his parents conceived him before he transports Dragon’s soul back to his physical form. The Fiend’s sorcerer ally speaks out a quick prayer as an explosion occurs beneath Dragon’s lifeless form which consumes the entire area…
