History
Negate was one of those Vicious Circle members that emerged during the Gang War, removing the abilities of villains that had been attempting to seize leadership of the group. CyberFace had him neutralise the powers of Chelsea Nirvana as she sought to challenge him for control. Negate’s abilities were recognised as a useful weapon by Chelsea and she later recruited him for her new Frightening Force team that was assembled for a failed assault upon Freak Force.
Negate was later allowed to visit his former Frightening Force teammate Bludgeon to remove his powers at his request. Negate was then abducted from Stronghold Penitentiary by DarkLord so that he could be used as part of the second Nega-Bomb. He was hooked up to a weapon along with Baby Boom that was unleashed by DarkLord and the Covenant of the Sword.
Years after this, Negate had remained with the Vicious Circle and he was dispatched by them to seek revenge upon Dragon. He had led an army of heroes to dismantle the incarnation of the Vicious Circle that had been formed by SkullFace. Negate’s touch robbed Dragon of only some of his abilities but he did successfully remove Jennifer Dragon’s powers, leading to her relationship with her husband deteriorating.
Negate is later brought in by Bloop and Animal to use his powers on someone claiming to be their sister, Jennifer. It turns out not to be their sister, but Mutation whom Negate touches. After a brief battle, Bloop tells Negate to use his powers on him and his brother Animal, as they are tired of the life of crime filled with death.
